Janice is a Yorta Yorta, Waddi Waddi and Ngarrindjeri woman who has a wealth of experience and knowledge across Aboriginal community sector. As an academic with a master’s in public health, she has built her career in higher education working on a variety of community research projects that include strengthen services provision in Aboriginal community-controlled organisations. Janice has recently retired but remains engaged in community projects and activities. She currently is a board member of the Njernda Aboriginal Corporation, Munarra School of Excellence, Kaiela Institute, Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation’s Council of Elders and Traditional Owner Land Management Board for the Barmah Forest. Janice is also a practising artist and cultural knowledge holder.

Mutti Mutti, Wemba Wemba, Boon Wurrung, Trawlwoolway, Lardil

Born in Naarm (Melbourne) and raised in Mildura, Indi Clarke is a proud Mutti Mutti, Wemba Wemba, Boon Wurrung, Trawlwoolway & Lardil man. Indi is a passionate advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the power of strength based approaches and Aboriginal knowledge systems. In the same year, he also won the Victorian Koorie Student of the Year, as part of the Victorian Training Awards and then went on to win the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year, as part of the Australian Training Awards.

Indi holds a Masters degree, Indigenous Business Leadership (Monash University), Cert IV Business (Sunraysia Institute of TAFE) and Cert II and III, Retail, Retailing and Retail Operations (Sunraysia Institute of TAFE).

Indi is the Executive Officer of the Koorie Youth Council and takes great pride contributing to work that gives back to his communities.

Ulupna, Yorta Yorta, Wurundjeri, Wiradjuri

Dr Moorina Bonini is a proud descendant of the Yorta Yorta Dhulunyagen family clan of Ulupna and the Yorta Yorta, Wurundjeri, and Wiradjuri Briggs/McCrae family.

As an artist of Aboriginal and Italian heritage, Moorina’s practice critiques and disrupts the eurocentric frameworks that shape institutional perceptions of Indigenous identity. Grounded in Indigenous Knowledge systems, Bonini’s work challenges colonial narratives, re-centers Aboriginal perspectives, and examines the intersections of culture, history, and representation.

Working across installation, moving image and cultural practice, Moorina has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at ACMI, The Shed (New York), Sydney Festival, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), the Centre for Contemporary Photography, and the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). Recent major commissions include Primavera: Young Australian Artists (2023) and her PhD exhibition presented across Bunjilaka Aboriginal Culture Centre, Melbourne Museum, and MADA Gallery (2023). She is currently a studio artist at Gertrude Contemporary (2024–2026).

Koorie

Shannon is a Koorie woman from Mildura. In 2009 she graduated with PhD research titled ‘Narratives of Koorie Victoria’. Prior to returning to study she worked for nine years at the Koorie Heritage Trust. Her research concentrates on the location of Indigenous Australian peoples and their knowledge within the Australian society and collective knowledge. In 2011 she became the Finkel Fellow (Senior Research Fellow) with the Monash Country Lines Archive program researching the use of 3D animation in preserving and intergenerational learning of language and knowledge that is in danger of being lost.

Shannon is a published author, academic, cultural critic and practitioner with demonstrated
significant experience in community advocacy research and projects. Her credentials are further bolstered with the publication and presentation of academic papers at multiple local, national and international conferences and substantiate my developed experience and understanding of life for Indigenous Australians in contemporary mainstream Australia.

Shannon holds a PhD in Indigenous Studies (Monash University), Bachelor of Arts (Ballarat University College), Graduate Diploma Natural and Cultural Heritage Interpretation (Deakin University) and a Graduate Certificate Applied Science, Environment and Heritage Interpretation (Deakin University).

Shannon is currently Head, First Peoples Department at Museums Victoria.

Worimi

Genevieve is a Worimi woman from mid north coast New South Wales who has lived in Narrm (Melbourne) for many years. She is an award-winning artist, researcher, educator, curator, filmmaker and oral historian who has accumulated twenty years’ experience across the arts, culture and education sectors. Genevieve has consistently won recognition and awards for the variety of projects she has undertaken throughout her diverse career including online documentaries, film, art and exhibitions.

Genevieve was the lead curator of the First Peoples exhibition, Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at the Melbourne Museum, which opened in November 2013. Genevieve has previously worked with the Koorie Heritage Trust as an oral historian, and then on both the Mission Voices website for the ABC and as a field producer on First Australians for SBS television. She has also produced a documentary called Lani’s Story.

Genevieve holds a PhD in Indigenous Studies (University of Melbourne), Grad Dip History (University of Melbourne) and BA Communications (University of Technology Sydney).

Currently, Genevieve is developing a range of creative projects – across public art, film and video, audio and online content – under the auspices of her company, GARUWA.

Peter has over 25 years of Financial Services experience largely in the Institutional Banking segment within both Westpac Banking Group and JPMorgan. Peter’s career has specialised in the financial services sector with significant experience in relationship management and credit/industry analysis across the Wealth, Superannuation and Asset Management Sectors enhanced by senior product and strategy roles in Global Transactional Banking, Treasury Management and Investment Platforms. Peter has been involved in Westpac’s Brothers & Sisters Employee Action group since 2012 and currently leads the BT Brothers & Sisters committee in addition to sitting on both the Victorian and National Brothers and Sisters committees. Peter was also involved in the Indigenous Superannuation Summit in 2015. Outside of banking Peter has extensive Corporate Advisory, Board, Responsible Manager and Compliance Committee experience with a number of emerging domestic and regional asset managers and AFSL holders as well as a number of community/sporting organisations.
